Why Vera Monae

Vera Monae is my Brand of Fashion not just for Fashion & Style. It also represents Women, of different Enthics, Shapes & Sizes. My Brand was put together too also uplift women self worth. I grew up in a household full of women. My family had and still have a  history of Domestic Abuse, so I decided to start a Brand that represent my family struggle of Domestic Abuse. My mother's mother was shot 6 times by her boyfriend, then my aunt was killed at 18yrs old by her boyfriend and the list goes on and on. So, with the help of my brother creating the name I use my aunt first name and another family middle name that dealt with Domestic Abuse. The Domestic Abuse world has expand it's spilled over into our younger generation. The younger generation confusing abuse as a sign of Love. Before, was a lot of abuse now it's ending with Murder. My Brand means a lot to me it's not only about making money, I want my brand to uplift women, make them feel good about themselves nod look good. Vera Monae was discovered in 2008 she not going anywhere. My family, my passion and my life.
